Job Description:  

L3Harris has an immediate opening for an experienced Cloud Software Engineer to join the Mission Networks team that provides modern, secure, reliable and resilient telecommunications networks and information management systems. The team develops critical communication capabilities for air traffic control, air-to-ground data communication, secure access to situational awareness data and secure information sharing to state agencies.

The Mission Networks Cloud team leverages Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) in delivering modern solutions to support customer operations and information management services. We value a strong knowledge of software development best practices and experience delivering & deploying Cloud ready applications and services.

Essential Functions: 

  • Engage in tasks related to design, development and integration of Cloud software applications in an Agile development environment. Develop Cloud based applications and configure the deployment environments to achieve end-to-end integration between Cloud and Non-Cloud components.
  • Implement applications satisfying both the program requirements and the business vision & roadmap for Cloud technologies
  • Leverage DevOps concepts and best practices to build and continuously improve the automated build, test and deployment environments for the applications.
  • Provide operational support for applications and tools to meet high availability and other SLAs.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 2+ years Cloud Software Developer
  • 2+ years OOP (Java, C++, Python)
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices to Kubernetes based environments such as EKS, OpenShift, etc.
  • Knowledge of microservice architectural patterns
  • Cloud environments with focus on containerized workloads, databases, and object storage
  • 1 years’ experience of Java software development including the use of Web Services, JMS, and application servers and JavaScript development with in-depth knowledge of NodeJS or ReactJS
  • 1 years’ experience developing applications that leverage relational and noSQL databases
  • Hands-on experience leveraging Cloud services for application development/deployment and using CLI commands and config files to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience with DevOps tools and concepts, including but not limited to: Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Git, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines & automation
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or similar for other Cloud providers
  • JavaScript, JQuery, XML, Web services (REST, SOAP) and/or similar technologies
  • Scripting languages, such as Python and Bash
  • Ability to write well designed, testable, efficient code and coach team to do the same
