Job description

Overview

Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment.
  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
  • Apply best practices and integrate with other areas; understand market differentiation and competitive factors.
  • Use judgment to propose different solutions outside of set parameters for more complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and interdependent production cycles.
  • Rely on technical experience and analytical thinking to arrive at decisions using multiple internal and limited external sources.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
  • Explain information and develop skills to bring team members to consensus within the field.
  • Convey performance expectations and handle sensitive issues as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience) + Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience.
