Job Description:
The Role
The Implementation Project Manager is the leader of Fidelity's conversion team that is responsible for the transition of 401(k) plans (Emerging, Advisor and Mid) from point of sale to handoff to ongoing service teams.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Strong Customer Service experience required.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Defined Contribution experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with multiple timelines at once.
  • Good judgment and independent decision-making skills
  • Your communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to coordinate and lead effective meetings
  • Your Ability to work across various levels of the organization
  • Managing projects that convert Fidelity 401(k) new sales into clients
  • Identifying service integration issues and developing solutions and alternatives before they can adversely impact the project
  • Presenting project status and deliverables to internal and external partners so that all collaborators are aware of progress and their role in moving the project forward
  • Negotiating with business partners to determine satisfactory solutions when conflicts arise between client needs and organization capabilities
  • Identifying potential risk items in the conversion process and raising those items appropriately, so that the risk can be mitigated

The Team
The Implementation Project Management team is responsible for all conversions and corporate actions for all plans with assets less than $100M and on the Volume Submitter Document. We support the Sales team by participating in some prospect meetings, but our main role is to act as a liaison between the Sales team and the ongoing Service teams. We take 401(k) plans from various different providers and standardize them so that they fit on both Fidelity's document and Service Model. Our success leads to stronger new plan sales and acquisitions which are the life blood of Fidelity.
