What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Business Development professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Business Development professional, you need strong market research skills, sales acumen, networking ability, and typically a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software, data analysis tools, and lead generation platforms is often required. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills help you stand out in this role. These skills are crucial for identifying growth opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and driving revenue for the organization.

What are some common challenges faced by business development professionals when entering new markets?

Business development professionals often encounter challenges such as understanding local customer needs, navigating unfamiliar regulations, and building new relationships in untapped markets. They must adapt strategies to fit cultural differences and market dynamics, which may require additional research and flexible thinking. Collaborating with local teams, leveraging existing networks, and staying updated on market trends can help overcome these obstacles and pave the way for successful market entry.

What is business development?

This can include identifying new markets, forming partnerships, generating leads, and creating long-term value for the organization. Their role is crucial for helping companies find new opportunities and stay competitive in the market.

    About the role:
We are seeking an exceptional Sr. Director of Product Marketing to define and drive the go-to-market strategy for Cresta's AI Agent and Agentic Assist portfolio (Cresta Agents). This leader will report to the VP of Product Marketing and play a critical role in the next phase of Cresta's growth.
    Responsibilities:
    • Own the development and continuous refinement of segmentation, positioning, and messaging for our AI Agent and Agentic Assist (Cresta Agents) portfolio, distilling it into clear, compelling sales and marketing collateral that communicates our differentiation and value at both the product and platform levels.
    • Partner closely across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing, serving as the connective tissue to define and execute go-to-market strategies that drive the growth and success of Cresta's AI Agent and Agentic Assist solutions.
    • Introduce new AI Agent and Agentic Assist products and capabilities to the market in ways that drive adoption and pipeline, leading end-to-end launch strategy and developing the enablement required to support cross-functional teams.
    • Deeply understand where and why we win or lose AI Agent and Agentic Assist opportunities across new business and expansion, taking a rigorous, data-driven approach to influence roadmap priorities, refine our differentiation, and optimize our overall growth strategy.
    • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging opportunities, anticipate potential threats, and shape Cresta's category narrative in the rapidly evolving agentic AI landscape.
    • Partner with the broader marketing organization to develop thought leadership perspectives and build high-impact campaigns that fuel pipeline and reinforce Cresta's leadership across AI Agents and agentic automation.
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on market dynamics, positioning, and long-term platform strategy across Cresta Agents.
    • Act as a cross-functional leader and connector across sales, marketing, product, and partnerships to ensure tight GTM alignment.

    Qualifications:
    • 8-12+ years of product marketing experience, ideally in Enterprise SaaS or AI
    • Experience leading GTM strategy for complex, technical platforms.
    • Proven track record influencing executive stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into strategic direction.
    • Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting at the executive level.
    • Strong understanding of large language models and enterprise AI deployment.
    • Experience building and scaling product marketing teams.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in contact center, customer experience, or enterprise automation categories.
    • Experience marketing AI Agent or agentic AI systems.

    Perks & Benefits:
We offer a comprehensive and people-first benefits package to support you at work and in life:
    • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with plans to fit you and your family
    • Flexible PTO to take the time you need, when you need it
    • Paid parental leave for all new parents welcoming a new child
    • Retirement savings plan to help you plan for the future
    • Remote work setup budget to help you create a productive home office
    • Monthly wellness and communication stipend to keep you connected and balanced
    • In-office meal program and commuter benefits provided for onsite employees

    Compensation at Cresta:
