Job description

Job Description:
  • The Project Manager position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional certification is a plus.
  • Nuclear power plant experience is a plus.

Job Responsibilities :
  • Job responsibilities include leading the planning, execution, and closure of electric utility projects.
  • Ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborating with clients, engineers, field teams, and stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements.
  • Developing comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
  • Establishing and managing project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Allocating and managing project resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure project goals are met
  • Leading project kick-off meetings, regular progress meetings, and close-out meetings with all relevant stakeholders, managing and mitigating project risks, including technical, schedule, and budget risks, ensuring project compliance with electrical codes, standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Overseeing the development and review of project documentation, such as drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Coordinating with procurement teams to source materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to meet project timelines, leading commissioning and testing activities, ensuring systems are operational and meet project requirements.
  • Providing technical expertise to address engineering and design issues that may arise during project execution, tracking project performance and provide regular progress reports to clients and senior management.
  • Maintaining accurate project records and documentation, including project files and change orders, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the project team.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to project team members and junior project managers.

Skillsets:
  • Skillsets and expertise required for this position include experience as a Project Manager in the electric utility industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, utility infrastructure, and project management principles.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure, exceptional leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities, familiarity with industry-specific regulations and permitting processes.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
