Job description

Overview

CTG is seeking to fill an Accounting Analyst III position for our client.

Location: Richland, WA
Duration: 12 months

Overview:
The Accounting Analyst III provides advanced accounting, financial analysis, and systems support within the Finance Department. This role supports complex accounting operations including financial reporting, general ledger management, budgeting, compliance, and audit support. The analyst will apply GAAP and governmental accounting standards to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective financial system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced financial analysis, reporting, and variance explanations for budgets and actuals
  • Support monthly and annual financial close processes and audit activities
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and project/facility ledgers
  • Prepare financial statements, regulatory reports, tax certifications, and related documentation
  • Develop and maintain financial systems, databases, and reporting tools (GL, journal entry, budgeting, asset management, etc.)
  • Analyze complex financial issues including debt, taxes, fuel transactions, and cost allocations
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, FERC requirements, and applicable state/federal regulations
  • Support development of financial policies, procedures, and reporting enhancements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to resolve financial issues

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial accounting principles, and governmental accounting standards (GASB)
  • Experience with financial systems (GL, reporting, budgeting, reconciliation tools)
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data and trends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial reporting tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work across multiple stakeholders and escalate issues appropriately

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required (Accounting emphasis required)
  • Equivalent experience accepted:
    • AA degree + 10 years accounting/finance experience, or
    • High school diploma/equivalent + 14 years experience
  • Strong background in financial close, auditing, reconciliations, and financial reporting required

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $63.00 to $68.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
