Overview

CTG is seeking a Construction Safety Trainer/Foreman to support a major capital expansion project. This role is responsible for leading construction safety initiatives, ensuring OSHA and EPA compliance, managing contractor safety performance, and promoting a zero-incident safety culture across all project activities.

Location: Newark, OH
Duration: 8 months
Pay Rate: $45.00 - $47.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage construction safety programs and compliance initiatives
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and hazard mitigation planning
  • Oversee contractor safety performance, orientations, toolbox talks, and compliance reviews
  • Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 1926 standards, EPA regulations, and site safety requirements
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for construction personnel and contractors
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Track safety KPIs, audit findings, and corrective action completion

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of construction safety or construction management experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards and regulatory compliance
  • Experience supporting capital construction projects and contractor safety programs
  • Strong leadership, communication, investigation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced industrial or construction environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Chemical or industrial construction safety experience
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification
  • Experience with international safety standards and practices

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
