Job Title: Airframe Structural Mechanic

Pay Rate: $35.00 - $45.00 an hour

Location: San Antonio, TX

Job Description

Performing heavy structural repairs, maintenance, and modifications on F/A-18 Aircraft. You will work with various tools including carbide drills and piloted reamers for composite and titanium drilling, as well as high-speed steel and cobalt drills for aluminum.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy structural repairs, maintenance, and modifications to fighter jet aircraft.
  • Utilize carbide drills and piloted reamers for composite and titanium drilling.
  • Use high-speed steel and cobalt drills for aluminum.
  • Conduct depot-level maintenance and aircraft heavy maintenance.
  • Execute aircraft modifications and structural repairs.
  • Perform sheet-metal modifications and manage corrosion issues.

Essential Skills

  • 3 - 8+ years of recent experience performing depot-level/heavy checks on aircraft.
  • Experience with equipment overhauls and modifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with military jets and fighter jets such as F/A-18F, F-18, and Super Hornet.
  • Collateral Duty Inspector, Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (Preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge in Air Force, Navy, and Marines aircraft maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Boeing aircraft.

Work Environment

The work environment includes two shifts: 1st shift from 5:30 am to 2:30 pm and 2nd shift from 2 pm to 10:30 pm, with optional overtime. You must be open to working any shift. The work is conducted in an open-bay, non-climate controlled environment. Employees are eligible to expense $100 per year for steel-toed shoes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
