Job description

About Monil

Monil develops technology that is transforming how livestock is managed.

Our platform combines virtual fencing, GPS tracking and animal intelligence to help farmers monitor animal health, automate grazing and gain deeper insight into their herds. Our ambition is to become the leading digital platform for livestock management.

Founded in Norway in 2022, Monil has grown rapidly into an international technology company with more than 60 employees across Norway, Sweden, the UK and the US. We are now entering our next phase of growth, with plans to expand into new markets and continue rapid scaling internationally.

Today, more than 3,000 customers use Monil to manage their animals every day. As we continue expanding internationally, building scalable internal systems is becoming just as important as building great products.

Why we're hiring

As Monil grows, the complexity of our business grows with it.

New markets, new products, new legal entities and increasing transaction volumes place higher demands on our business systems, data and processes.

We're looking for a Business Systems Lead who will own and continuously improve the systems that enable Monil to scale efficiently.

Working across Commercial, Operations, Product and Finance, you'll simplify business processes, improve data quality and ensure our business systems evolve alongside the company.

Your mission

Your mission is simple:

Make Monil easier to scale.

You will ensure that our business systems become an increasingly powerful competitive advantage by improving processes, strengthening data quality and reducing manual work.

You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and work closely with both internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver solutions that create measurable business value.

What you'll ownBusiness Systems
  • Own and continuously improve our ERP system (Odoo) as Monil's core business platform.

  • Prioritise the business system roadmap together with stakeholders across the company.

  • Configure, optimise, and extend business processes as Monil grows.

  • Ensure that our business systems support scalable ways of working, rather than local workarounds.

Business Process Improvement
  • Map, analyse, and improve business processes across Commercial, Operations, Product and Finance.

  • Standardise workflows where appropriate while keeping enough flexibility for future growth.

  • Identify bottlenecks and eliminate unnecessary manual work.

System Architecture & Integrations
  • Define how Monil's business systems work together.

  • Design scalable integrations between ERP, CRM, product platforms, payment providers, logistics and other core applications.

  • Improve data quality, master data governance, and system ownership.

  • Ensure information flows reliably across the organisation.

Automation & AI
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work.

  • Introduce AI-enabled workflows where they create measurable business value.

  • Continuously evaluate new technologies that improve productivity or decision making.

Vendors & Governance
  • Manage external implementation partners and business system vendors.

  • Help prioritise investments based on business value, complexity and long-term maintainability.

  • Establish lightweight governance for business systems, data ownership and change management.

What success looks like

Within your first 12–24 months you have:

  • Established Odoo as the operational backbone of Monil.

  • Standardised and simplified our most important business processes.

  • Reduced manual work through automation.

  • Built reliable integrations between our core business systems.

  • Improved data quality and established clear ownership of master data.

  • Created a scalable business systems platform that supports continued international growth.

We're probably a good match if you
  • Have led implementation or significant development of an ERP or other core business platform.

  • Enjoy improving business processes through technology.

  • Have experience working with integrations between business-critical systems.

  • Understand how Commercial, Operations, Product and Finance teams work together.

  • Are comfortable moving between strategy, prioritisation and hands-on execution.

  • Prefer solving business problems over implementing technology for its own sake.

Experience with Odoo, APIs, process automation or AI tools is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Who you are

You're someone who naturally looks for a better way of doing things and makes sure it gets done.

You enjoy understanding how businesses operate and translating that understanding into better systems and simpler processes.

You are analytical without overcomplicating things, pragmatic without compromising quality, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-growing organisation.

Most importantly, you care about creating solutions that people actually use.

Why this role?

Few companies have the opportunity to build their internal operating platform from an early stage while scaling internationally.

You'll have significant influence over how Monil operates for years to come, working directly with senior leadership and stakeholders across the business.

Rather than maintaining existing systems, you'll help design the processes, architecture and business platform that support the company's next phase of growth.

If you enjoy solving complex business problems through systems, data and automation, you'll find plenty to build at Monil.

This role is based at our HQ at Lysaker and reports to the CFO.
