Job description

Join Our Team as an Adult Family Home Direct Support Professional!
About Aptiv:
Aptiv is passionate about carrying out our mission of providing a spectrum of innovative support for individuals with disabilities so they may live more independent lives. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities through various services and programs. Our organization is committed to fostering an environment where individuals can thrive, achieve their goals, and contribute meaningfully to society. We also care about our employees' health, well-being, and safety and promote a positive work-life balance with a flexible work environment.
Compensation and Schedule:
  • Part-time up to 29 hours a week
  • Shifts are between 6am-2pm
  • Rotating holiday & weekend availability is required.
  • Competitive hourly wage of $17.10 with a $1.50 shift differential for weekend shifts

Responsibilities:
As an Adult Mentor, you get to facilitate your adult clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live with independence and dignity in the community. With up to four roommates living in a home under a true roommate arrangement, the feeling is family-like, rather than institutional. And, since you work with the same limited number of clients regularly, you get to know them very well. You feel great about facilitating a full life for these individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that you have the privilege to work with!
You do more than just assist with medications, meals, light housekeeping, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, errands, and appointments. While those tasks are important, you also provide companionship and socialization, as you support your clients in visiting with friends, attending events, or working on hobbies. You help them stay healthy in all areas by making sure that they are mentally stimulated, physically active, and well-nourished, encouraging their independence as much as possible.
Why Join Us:
Make a Positive Impact: Your work will directly contribute to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Collaborative Environment: Join a team of dedicated professionals who value collaboration, innovation, and open communication.
Professional Growth: We provide opportunities for professional development, training, and advancement within the organization.
Inclusive Culture: We embrace diversity and believe in creating an inclusive and supportive workplace for all employees.
Competitive Compensation: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
