Senior Data Engineer - Job Description
Location: Singapore
Duration: 12 Months

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling modern data platforms, data warehouses, and analytics ecosystems. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in dbt, Snowflake, cloud data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data modeling, along with a proven ability to partner with business stakeholders to deliver highimpact, analyticsready data products.
This role is highly technical and hands-on, requiring strong SQL development, data architecture skills, and experience building governed, scalable transformation layers using modern data engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Engineering
  • Architect, design, and build endtoend data warehouses and analytics models across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Support, and Product domains.
  • Develop scalable dbt pipelines using medallion architecture (bronze/staging, silver/intermediate, gold/marts).
  • Build incremental models, optimize SQL transformations, and reduce compute costs through performance tuning.
  • Create custom dbt macros for data transformations and process standardization.
  • Implement CI/CD workflows for dbt deployments across Dev, QA, and Production environments.
Data Modeling & Governance
  • Design complex dimensional models, semantic layers, and star/snowflake schemas for enterprise analytics.
  • Implement dbt snapshots to track SCD changes for customers, contracts, entitlements, and product adoption.
  • Meet with stakeholders to understand requirements and build Business views to support those needs.

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Act as the dbt subject matter expert, you will help in defining standards and best practices.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, promoting engineering rigor and code quality.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Analysts, and business leaders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years in Data Engineering, ETL/ELT development, or Data Architecture.
  • Expert-level SQL and strong experience with:
    • dbt Core/Studio
    • Snowflake
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and governance.
  • Experience with Git for version control and release management.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with SnapLogic.
  • Background in building customer-facing data products.
  • Experience with observability tools (Splunk).
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with Databricks development.
