Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Location: Coppell, TX (Hybrid – 3 days/week @ Client)

Description:

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Applies analytical skills to clarify and understand business needs and requirements and interprets them into functional specifications.
  • Responsible for gathering, compiling and synthesizing information regarding system functionality and flow.
  • Act as primary point of contact for the team during development to clarify business requirements, resolve issues, and make recommendations as business impacts arise.
  • Deliver a range of artifacts supporting application functional analysis and design including current and future target state process flows, user stories, functional and technical specifications, dependency maps, and requirements traceability.
  • Analyzes and decomposes functional specifications into appropriately sized user stories.
  • Reviews user stories with stakeholders and obtains approval to proceed.
  • Works with Product Management to refine and prioritize backlog and drive understanding of information and process requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and subject matter experts to communicate the proposed solution vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems, requiring the regular use of ingenuity and creativity, within the larger context of the business needs and objectives.
  • Coordinates defects clarification, triages and coordinates resolution by software engineering team.
  • Practical knowledge of Agile principles and ability to lead SCRUM ceremonies.
  • Works closely with other teams to assist with design, development, testing, and implementation of solutions.
  • Independently applies problem solving skills to investigate and research complex system problems to establish root cause and resolution.
  • Provides production support within their application domain to resolve issues.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and operational support for specified applications and systems.
  • Utilize change control procedures and processes.
  • Determine and translate business requirements into solutions.
  • Define comprehensive requirements for system and process enhancements and changes.
  • Document reports and obtain approval.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards.
  • Perform testing on processes/applications including test planning, test execution, management of defect remediation, and documentation of test results.
  • Work with colleagues, clients, and vendors to interpret, exchange, and/or document administrative and technical information.
  • Work independently with minimal direct supervision; prioritize multiple objectives and initiatives; and exercise independent judgment to obtain optimal results.
Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Must have Mortgage industry experience (Servicing and Originations).
  • Proficiency in defining business problems and proposing solutions.
  • Product, Process, and Industry Knowledge.
  • Experience with Microsoft VSTS or Jira.
  • Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Concatenate, Conditional Formatting, Pivot Tables).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented professional with the ability to interface with all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience evaluating complex business problems and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
