Job description

Sheet Metal / Machine Operator

Location: South Sacramento

Pay: $23

Shift: Morning Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to operate rainware roll formers and slitters. The role involves setting up and operating various machines and equipment, adjusting machine settings based on material thickness and work order requirements, and inspecting parts using a range of tools. You'll also be responsible for performing secondary operations and maintaining production organization.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up rainware roll former and slitter.
  • Adjust machine settings for different material thicknesses and work orders.
  • Inspect parts using tape measures, scales, calipers, and computerized measuring devices.
  • Perform secondary operations such as cleaning on manufactured parts.
  • Organize raw stock, partially completed, and finished products in appropriate storage or production areas.
  • Conduct basic preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Perform safety checks for machine wear, damage to tooling, and ensure correct positioning of safety guards.
  • Assist other machine operators and departments with warehouse and production work.
  • Follow all safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in machine operation and general labor.
  • Experience in assembly and use of hand tools.
  • Knowledge of press brake, stamping press, and roll forming.
  • Production experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, reach, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Capability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely.
