    Job description

    Shape Mission-Critical Defense Systems

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to play a key role in the design, integration, and delivery of advanced military and command-and-control systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop technology that supports critical defense operations and enhances mission effectiveness.

    As a technical leader, you'll influence system architecture, guide engineering best practices, and help deliver complex hardware and software solutions from concept through deployment.

    What You'll Do
    • Lead the development and tailoring of systems engineering processes, tools, and best practices across the project lifecycle.
    • Drive system architecture, requirements analysis, and detailed design activities for complex defense systems.
    • Decompose and estimate work within a SAFe Agile environment, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate hardware, software, COTS, and custom-developed components into operational systems.
    • Review and validate internal and subcontractor designs, technical plans, schedules, and deliverables.
    • Analyze technical risks, identify design issues, and lead resolution activities throughout development and integration.
    • Develop key engineering documentation, including system architectures, interface specifications, installation documentation, and design artifacts.
    • Support verification and validation activities through the creation and review of test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
    • Partner with customers, stakeholders, and end users to ensure solutions align with operational requirements and mission objectives.
    • Provide technical leadership during implementation, integration, testing, and deployment activities.
    • Recommend innovative system-level and software-driven solutions to address deficiencies, capability gaps, and evolving customer needs.
    • Lead technical reviews, design reviews, and progress assessments while providing clear communication to Senior leadership and project teams.
    • Conduct technical studies, trade-off analyses, and solution evaluations to inform strategic engineering decisions.
    • Support subcontractor management activities, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and contractual obligations.
    What You BringRequired Qualifications
    • 10+ years of experience delivering defense, military, or command-and-control systems.
    • Strong experience in Systems Engineering, requirements management, and system design.
    • Experience integrating complex hardware and software systems, including COTS and custom-developed solutions.
    • Proven expertise in requirements definition, analysis, traceability, and verification, ideally using tools such as DOORS.
    • Experience working within SAFe Agile or other modern Agile development frameworks.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and Sr stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and driving technical outcomes.
    Preferred Experience
    • Direct experience in ISR, C4ISR, tactical systems, or military command-and-control environments.
    • Knowledge of military standards and defense acquisition processes.
    • Experience with product lifecycle management methodologies and tools.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop technical proposals, concept documents, system specifications, architecture documents, and test documentation.
    • Familiarity with one or more of the following:
      • TBMS
      • ORBAT Manager
      • TAK
      • SitaWare
