Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator supports the daily operations, planning, and implementation of a community-based coalition focused on substance abuse prevention. This role assists with coordinating coalition activities, initiatives, and outreach efforts while helping ensure alignment with program goals and work plans. The Program Coordinator works closely with the Program Director to track progress, foster collaborative partnerships with members and stakeholders, and help ensure prevention initiatives are implemented effectively and reach the communities they are intended to serve. This role oversees administrative services and daily program operation of Thrive Coalition, ensuring quality standards are maintained. Also is responsible for keeping the Program Director informed of progress and coordination of all activities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the implementation of the Annual Implementation Work Plan;
  • Responsible for overseeing progress made on attaining the Annual Implementation Work Plan;
  • Monitors the systems, procedures and standards of the Coalition, informing the appropriate party when deviations occur;
  • Schedules, coordinates, and facilitates Coalition meetings and events;
  • Responsible for verbal and written communication with Coalition members, other organizations, partners, and collaborators;
  • Builds and establishes relationships with coalition sector members and other organizations and governmental entities;
  • Oversee the Strategic Prevention Framework process in collaboration with the Evaluator and Program Director;
  • Responsible for the timely submission of grant-required reporting
  • Attend and participate in training activities, community meetings, conferences and supervisory sessions;
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Education:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Public Health or a related field. Two years of experience working directly with youth and families, community organizations, and/or substance use prevention may be substituted for one (1) year of college level education.

Experience and Competencies:

  • Marketing and/or sales experience preferred;
  • Bilingual is preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment;
  • Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality;
  • Professional appearance and demeanor;
  • Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served;
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required; and
  • CPR Certification and First Aid Certification.
  • This position requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
