Job Responsibilities:

The Robotics Safety & Compliance Lead is responsible for ensuring all robotics operations are conducted safely, consistently, and in full compliance with established protocols and client requirements. This role oversees safety standards across robotics data collection environments, including lab and field operations, and ensures adherence to operational, procedural, and regulatory guidelines.
Working closely with the Robotics Program Manager and Workflow Managers, this role establishes and enforces safety frameworks, mitigates operational risk, and serves as the primary point of contact for all safety and compliance matters with client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Strategy & Ownership
  • Define and own theend-to-end safety and compliance strategyacross robotics operations
  • Establish and maintainsafety standards, protocols, and operating procedures
  • Develop and tracksafety KPIs and compliance metrics
  • Proactively identify risks and implementpreventative safety measures
Operational Safety Management
  • Ensure safe execution of all robotics workflows, including:
    • Robot operation and handling
    • Teleoperation sessions
    • Lab and field activities
  • Conduct regularsafety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Enforce adherence tostandard operating procedures (SOPs)across all teams
  • Act as the authority topause or stop operationsif safety risks are identified
Compliance & Process Enforcement
  • Ensure all activities comply with:
    • Client requirements
    • Internal operational guidelines
    • Applicable safety standards and policies
  • Maintain and evolvecompliance documentation, SOPs, and safety guidelines
  • Monitor adherence to workflows, data handling procedures, and operational controls
Incident Management & Risk Mitigation
  • Leadincident reporting, investigation, and resolution processes
  • Conductroot cause analysis (RCA)and implementcorrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Maintain logs and reporting for all safety and compliance incidents
  • Proactively identify trends and implement risk mitigation strategies
Training & Team Enablement
  • Design and deliversafety training and certification programsfor all operational roles
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained before engaging in robotics workflows
  • Promote asafety-first cultureacross the organization
  • Provide guidance and support to Workflow Managers and operators on safety best practices
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and report onsafety performance metrics(incident rates, compliance adherence, audit results)
  • Drive continuous improvement insafety processes, tools, and workflows
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements that maintain safety while increasing operational efficiency
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as theprimary point of contactfor safety and compliance with client stakeholders
  • Provideregular reporting and updateson safety performance and risk mitigation
  • Lead discussions on safety protocols, audits, and escalations
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively strengthen safety frameworks
Requirements
Experience
  • Experience insafety, compliance, or operations roleswithin robotics, hardware, manufacturing, or similar environments
  • Proven ability to managesafety programs in fast-paced, operational settings
  • Experience conductingrisk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
  • Familiarity withrobotics environments, lab operations, or teleoperation workflowspreferred

  • Strong understanding ofsafety protocols, compliance frameworks, and operational risk management
  • Experience withRCA, CAPA, and incident management processes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to enforce standards and influence teams
