Job description

Overview

The Control Room Operator is responsible for remotely monitoring field operations, equipment, and alarms from a centralized control room. This position uses computer-based monitoring systems and display screens to identify changing field conditions, respond to alarms, and communicate with field personnel to help maintain safe and reliable operations.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor field operations, equipment status, production conditions, and alarms through computer systems and control room displays.
  • Recognize abnormal operating conditions and respond appropriately to alarms and notifications.
  • Communicate with field operators and other personnel regarding equipment issues, alarms, shutdowns, and changing field conditions.
  • Track and document operational events, alarms, equipment status, and shift activity.
  • Maintain situational awareness of multiple field locations and operating conditions simultaneously.
  • Follow established operating procedures and escalation protocols.
  • Provide clear and accurate information during shift changes and handoffs.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and reliable operations.
  • Perform other operational support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of oil and gas industry experience required.
  • Previous control room, operations, lease operator, production operator, or field operator experience highly preferred.
  • Must live within a 45-50 mile radius of Midland, TX. Housing, per diem, and relocation assistance are not provided. 
  • Comfortable working with computers, monitoring systems, multiple screens, and alarm notifications.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal operating conditions.
  • Strong communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain focused while monitoring multiple systems and field activities.
  • Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule.
  • Must be willing to work night shifts and rotate between days and nights as required.
  • Looking for candidates interested in long-term control room work and willing to remain in the position for an extended period.
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
