Job description

Viva Railings is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Supply Chain Intern to support inventory optimization and operational improvement initiatives during the Summer term of 2026.

This role will work directly with Supply Chain and Manufacturing leadership across Purchasing, Inventory, Warehouse, and Production Control functions. The primary focus of the internship will be development of a practical, data-driven inventory planning model intended to improve stocking strategies while balancing operational continuity, supplier lead times, demand variability, and manufacturing risk.

The intern will analyze historical inventory and consumption data to help identify opportunities for inventory reduction without creating material shortages or operational disruption. This role requires strong analytical thinking and the ability to evaluate inventory behavior beyond simple average consumption models.
In addition to inventory analysis, the intern will assist with documentation and standardization efforts through development of Supply Chain SOPs and process documentation.

This position is best suited for candidates interested in supply chain analytics, manufacturing operations, inventory management, and process improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
Analyze historical inventory transactions and consumption trends.
Assist in development of a practical inventory planning and replenishment model.
Evaluate demand variability, supplier lead times, inventory turns, consumption trends, replenishment frequency, and irregular or bulk usage patterns.
Identify inventory items where historical averages may not accurately represent operational demand.
Support development of inventory classification and stocking strategies.
Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce excess inventory while maintaining operational continuity.
Build reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to improve inventory visibility and decision making.
Present findings and recommendations to Supply Chain leadership
Assist in documenting operational workflows across Purchasing, Inventory, Warehouse, and Production Control.
Develop and organize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Convert informal processes into structured documentation.
Assist in identifying process gaps and opportunities for standardization.
