Job description

Job Summary

Ensures that all Prisma Health pharmacy permitted areas assigned meet SC Board of Pharmacy and DHEC regulations. Conducts required monthly inspections of all assigned permitted areas and physician offices. Prepares necessary reports and documentation pursuant to unit inspections. Keeps Prisma Health leadership informed on all regulatory and compliance issues and opportunities.

Essential Functions

  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference

  • Under the supervision of a pharmacist, completes required monthly inspections for permitted areas and other assigned physician offices. Reports results on a monthly basis or more frequently as required. Reports deficiencies to the compliance pharmacists, pharmacy leadership the impacted facility Medical Director, Business Manager and/or Administrator on a regular basis as requested.

  • Under the supervision of a pharmacist, assists with the development and distribution of medication use policies and procedures for use in ambulatory medical practices, clinics and drug outlet permits.

  • Assists the compliance pharmacists and pharmacy leadership with annual permit renewals.

  • Performs other duties assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Graduation from a Pharmacy Technician training program Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Experience - Three (3) years of experience.

  • Certified Pharmacy Tech with the State Board of Pharmacy

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of State BOP/Dept of Health/DEA rules/regulations

  • Ability to work outdoors as business needs occur. Ability to stand for extended periods of time or walk frequently as business needs occur.

  • Communication skills

  • Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with Health-System and other Pharmacy staff members.

  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests.

  • Familiarity with 3rd party compliance software applications preferred.
