Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing all inventory management operations across warehouse and production facilities. This position monitors inventory accuracy, proper stock levels, efficient inventory movement, and compliance with company inventory procedures. The Inventory Manager will lead and support the Inventory Control Specialist and collaborate closely with warehouse, shipping/receiving, production, purchasing, and management teams to maintain operational efficiency and inventory integrity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee all inventory control operations, processes, and procedures to ensure accurate inventory records and efficient product flow.
  • Supervise the Inventory Control Specialist and related inventory personnel by providing leadership, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve inventory management systems, policies, and best practices.
  • Monitor inventory levels, trends, discrepancies, and variances to minimize inventory loss and maintain accuracy.
  • Review and analyze cycle counts, physical inventory results, and reconciliation reports, ensuring timely resolution of inventory discrepancies.
  • Coordinate inventory activities between multiple warehouse locations, including transfer tracking and inventory verification.
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, rotation, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Work closely with Warehouse Managers, Production Managers, Shipping & Receiving teams, and purchasing to maintain inventory availability and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate data entry within inventory management systems and ERP software.
  • Generate and review inventory reports, KPIs, and metrics to support operational and management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to improve inventory system functionality, reporting accuracy, and process automation.
  • Assist with forecasting inventory needs and maintaining optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates will generally have the following education, knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Highschool degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in inventory control management within a manufacturing or warehouse environment is very desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience maintaining tracking spreadsheets, analyzing data, generating reports, and monitoring key operational metrics is very desired.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with standard office technology, including Microsoft Suite products.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant tools.
  • Strong analytical critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Possess the ability to take initiative by proactively identifying opportunities, proposing ideas, and acting without waiting for explicit instructions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to enter data into a computer quickly and accurately.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and comprehension of food safety protocols, food service regulations, health regulations, and meticulous adherence to proper sanitation practices.
  • Display a professional and presentable demeanor with a neat appearance.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and record-keeping.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills, including arithmetic operations, numerical calculations, and the ability to interpret and analyze numerical data.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience operating forklifts and pickers a plus.
  • Ability to pick pallets at heights up to 30 ft off the ground.
  • Ability to work with flexibility in a continuous schedule of day, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Physical Requirements
This job involves physical effort, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, typing, and manipulating objects. Tasks may require handling weights from under 1 lb. to over 60 lbs., with heavier lifting occurring less frequently.
Work is performed while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and bending.
Mental Requirements
This role requires continuous mental and visual attention to monitor production and identify defects.
Working Conditions
Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, heat, cold, fumes, noise, and water, though conditions are generally reasonable.
Attendance
Adherence to company attendance standards is expected.
Safety
Compliance with company safety standards is required, including the safe operation of heavy machinery.
FLSA Status
This is a nonexempt position eligible for overtime pay.
