Job description

Key duties include, but are not limited to:
Sales & Business Development
  • Prospect and identify new business opportunities through networking, referrals, social media, research, and outbound outreach.
  • Generate and maintain an active pipeline of prospective advertisers and business opportunities.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through phone, email, social media, networking, and in-person outreach.
  • Build relationships with local business owners and decision-makers throughout the Capital Region.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand client goals, challenges, and marketing objectives.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of customized advertising and marketing recommendations.
  • Participate in new business development initiatives and community networking events.
  • Build confidence in presenting ideas and developing relationships with business owners and decision-makers.
  • Develop prospecting, sales, and relationship-building skills while working toward individual business development goals.

Account Management & Client Support
  • Support Account Executives in managing client relationships and advertising campaigns.
  • Assist with preparing proposals, presentations, client communications, and sales materials.
  • Serve as a point of contact for designated clients and help ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Participate in client meetings, campaign reviews, and strategic discussions.
  • Help identify opportunities for account growth, retention, and cross-platform marketing solutions.

Digital Marketing & Campaign Development
  • Collaborate with Digital Operations, Creative Services, and Sales teams to develop integrated marketing strategies.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to digital advertising products including Connected TV (CTV), OTT, social media advertising, video advertising, search marketing, programmatic display, retargeting, and audience targeting solutions.
  • Assist with campaign launches, monitoring, optimization efforts, and performance reporting.
  • Learn how digital, streaming, broadcast, and creative solutions work together to drive measurable results for clients.

Analytics & Professional Development
  • Review campaign performance metrics and assist in developing recommendations that improve client results.
  • Utilize reporting and campaign insights to support client retention and renewal strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records within CRM and sales systems.
  • Participate in ongoing sales training, digital certification opportunities, and professional development programs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in advertising and media sales.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong interest in sales, marketing, advertising, business development, or digital media.
  • Excellent written and oral English language communication skills, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to manipulate computer keys and general office equipment (telephone, copier, etc.). Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, marketing, advertising, retail, hospitality, or business development.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar systems.
  • Exposure to digital marketing, social media advertising, analytics, or related technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Advertising, or a related field preferred but not required.
