Trident Consulting is seeking a "Data Migration Project Manager โ€ for one of our clients ", a global leader in Mobility and transportation network.

Job Title: Data Migration Project Manager

Location: Remote (Anywhere in the US)

Type: Contract

Rate: $70/hr on w2

Note: The main project is a Databricks migration, which is finance-specific and requires managing SOX controls, change management, and creating extensive documentation due to the impact on monthly and quarterly financial reporting

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to support Finance Data & Insights initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience managing data and analytics projects within finance environments, working closely with data engineering, accounting, FP&A, and compliance teams. This role will focus heavily on Databricks migration initiatives, SOX controls, financial reporting impacts, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end project coordination for Finance Data & Analytics initiatives, including Databricks/database migration projects.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including project plans, RAID logs, RACI matrices, status reports, meeting notes, and action trackers.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Revenue Accounting, FP&A, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Track dependencies, risks, milestones, and deliverables across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document key decisions, and communicate follow-up actions to stakeholders.
  • Support compliance and SOX-related documentation and change management activities impacting financial reporting processes.
  • Manage Jira boards and ensure accurate tracking of tasks, timelines, and project progress.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support database migrations, reporting pipeline upgrades, and financial systems initiatives.
  • Identify risks proactively and escalate issues with mitigation recommendations.
  • Support finance-related product launches and ensure downstream financial reporting impacts are identified and addressed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active PMP Certification โ€“ Required
  • 2โ€“5 years of Project Management experience supporting Data, Analytics, or Finance Technology teams
  • Experience managing data migration, reporting, or financial systems projects
  • Strong experience with Jira and project tracking methodologies
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and business teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Databricks, Redshift, Hive, or similar data platforms
  • Understanding of SQL and data pipelines
  • Experience supporting Finance, Accounting, Revenue Recognition, FP&A, or SOX compliance initiatives
  • Prior experience within Finance Data & Insights or Analytics organizations
  • Experience with change management and financial reporting processes
