You will be a part of our growing nuclear team where we ensure world-class project delivery through the skills of our people, methodologies, governance, and systems. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Prepare engineering work packages ensuring budgets and schedules are met
  • Define mechanical project requirements as they are related to scope, cost and schedule
  • Develop and/or review mechanical deliverables such as design requirements, design criteria, engineering calculations and systems analysis, technical specifications, design criteria, datasheets, layouts, and more
  • Prepare design completion assurance certificates, analysis statements and engineering reports for registration and fitness of service assessments
  • Support classification of nuclear and non-nuclear code boundaries
  • Seal documentation required with regulatory bodies for registration of systems such as Canadian Registration Numbers (CRN)
  • Assist with technical queries raised during construction and commissioning of projects
  • Willingness to mentor junior and intermediate staff
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines including participation in design reviews
  • Participate in HAZOP, COMS and other safety related reviews as required
  • Actively manage relationships with clients and vendors
  • Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates

You bring to the role:

  • B.Sc/B.Eng in mechanical engineering
  • Registration as a professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible to obtain
  • Valid security clearance for Canada, or the ability to obtain
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in project engineering specific to mechanical design
  • Experience in leading mechanical teams in multidisciplinary nuclear projects
  • Experience working inside a nuclear quality management system compliant with CSA N286, NQA-1, and/or ISO 19443
  • Familiar with CSA N285, ASME Section III Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31.1 Power Piping, and B31.3 Process Piping
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to function with minimum supervision
  • Experience in client engagement as a mechanical lead in nuclear projects
  • Familiar with engineering management lead in nuclear projects
  • Experience working in the Canadian nuclear industry with clients such as Ontario Power Generation, Bruce Power and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories
  • Experience with engineering change control (ECC) processes within the Canadian nuclear industry including CANDU station configuration management systems
  • Preference for those with DTL or DE qualifications at Canadian nuclear facilities
  • Eligible to work on export-controlled projects subject to 10 CFR 810

Base salary range: $130,000 - $180,000

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
