Job description

Job Summary:

The Account Executive is responsible for the sale of EF Contract Flooring branded commercial flooring and other sales-related activities within the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware. Primary customer contacts include commercial interior designers and architects (A&D), flooring contractors/flooring product dealers (Dealers) and corporate clients including health care, education, government, religious (End Users). Preferred candidate residence is within a 30-mile radius of the Greater Philadelphia area to the Central Pennsylvania corridor, including Lancaster and Harrisburg.

  1. Identify sales opportunities through new construction and refurbishing of facilities, offices, end users, and other projects. Leads are generated through developing relationships with key specifiers including architects, designers and commercial flooring contractors.
  2. Establish relationships with Strategic Accounts Executives to promote geographical growth of strategic accounts.
  3. Provide sales and marketing services in the marketplace including sales calls, supply of marketing materials and support, sales presentations, designer luncheons, client entertainment, etc.
  4. Move flooring product projects/orders through the sales process which includes specification, bidding, and supplying.
  5. Maintain status and service on job bids and current specifications to secure projects that are in process.
  6. Establish key relationships and networking opportunities through customer service activities and through participation in trade and community organizations. Membership and participation in an industry trade association, IFMA, BOMA, or IIDA, is mandatory.
  7. Customer data updated daily, (including email address, phone numbers, and project information) into Quest-CRM system on the company supplied device.
  8. Other task as directed by Regional Vice President.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  1. Three to five years of experience in commercial interior (walls, furniture, etc.) and/or flooring outside sales and evidence of sustained effectiveness and success is strongly preferred.
  2. Experience working with interior and architectural community within the previous 12 months within the designated geography is strongly preferred.
  3. A college degree is preferred.

Other Requirements:

  1. Intense drive to achieve sales metrics/forecast. Natural inclination to evaluate and achieve sales to meet the territory budget with the same level of ability to form and cultivate relationships with the customer base.
  2. Ability to work evenings on occasion to entertain customers (desire for this to occur 3-5 times per month)
  3. Strong soft skills:
    1. Effective communication with various levels of diverse individuals (education, background, experience in industry, etc.)
    2. Strong sense of urgency and work ethic including follow up and follow through with both internal departments and external customer base
    3. Dedication to the full-time role, able to work 40+ hours per week with presence in sales field five days per week
    4. Strong ability to solve problems without hesitation and with solid empathetic delivery Some overnight travel is expected.
    5. Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects details.
  4. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  5. Lifting of architect folders and flooring product samples is frequently required with the possibility of weights up to 25 lbs.
  6. Some pushing and pulling may be required to move samples and supplies.
  7. Must be able to drive and/or ride in a vehicle for extended periods of time.
  8. Must live within an approximate 30-mile radius of the area.
