Job description

COMPANY OVERVIEW

At Terabase Energy, we believe that digitalization and automation will drive the next wave of innovation and cost reduction in large scale solar. To fully unlock the potential of this opportunity, Terabase is developing an interconnected software and construction automation platform. We work alongside project developers, owners, and engineering & construction firms to support the design, optimization, and construction of huge solar projects around the world. Our team is a blend of solar-industry veterans and newbies, thought-leaders, dreamers, software, electrical and mechanical engineers, coders, product managers, project managers, and sales and marketing professionals. We are based in Northern California, with several other offices in the United States and around the world.

THE ROLE

As the Product Marketing Manager,  you will report to the Marketing Director and serve as the connective tissue between our product/engineering teams and the market. The core of the job is understanding what our products do, why they matter, and translating that into marketing content and campaigns that reach technical B2B audiences across the solar industry.

You will work across multiple product lines and business units. That means sitting in on product team meetings and sales calls, interviewing engineers, product managers, and customers, staying current on roadmap developments, and turning what you learn into materials that sales, business development, and marketing channels can use. The role is execution-heavy. We are a small team covering a lot of ground, and the right person will be comfortable producing work, not just strategizing about it.

As our product lines mature and converge toward a unified platform anchored in physical AI and autonomous construction, there is a clear opportunity for this role to grow into ownership of product marketing for that platform. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape how a new category of technology is positioned and marketed.

APPROXIMATE TIME ALLOCATION

  • 60% Product Marketing
  • 30% Content Production and Digital Marketing
  • 10% Event Management and Cross-Functional Support

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Marketing (~60%)

  • Develop and maintain product positioning and messaging across PlantPredict, Construct, Terafab, and SCADA/Controls and future products.
  • Conduct regular stakeholder interviews with product managers, engineers, and sales to stay current on capabilities, roadmap, and competitive landscape.
  • Translate technical product developments into marketing collateral: website copy, product one-pagers, brochures, sales decks (PowerPoint), and data sheets.
  • Create case studies, use-case narratives, and customer success stories in collaboration with sales and customer-facing teams.
  • Build and maintain sales enablement materials. Keep the sales team equipped with current competitive intelligence, objection-handling guides, and pitch support.
  • Support product launches with coordinated messaging across channels.
  • Track competitor activity and industry trends to inform positioning.
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, and executive talking points for product announcements and company milestones.
  • Prepare and submit industry award applications.
  • Coordinate co-marketing campaigns with technology and channel partners, including joint webinars, co-branded content, and cross-promotional outreach.

Content Production and Digital Marketing (~30%)

  • Produce product-focused content for LinkedIn, email campaigns (Mailchimp), and the company blog/website.
  • Manage and update website content in Webflow, including product pages, landing pages, and blog posts.
  • Plan, manage, and host webinars end-to-end: topic development, speaker coordination, platform management, promotional emails, post-event follow-up campaigns, and reporting.
  • Create and edit short-form video content for social media (product demos, podcast clips, event highlights).
  • Write and design email newsletters, LinkedIn posts, blog posts, case studies, customer success stories, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar that coordinates publishing across channels around product releases, company announcements, industry events, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Support executive thought leadership: identify speaking opportunities, draft bylines and contributed articles, and prepare talking points for media interviews and podcasts.
  • Contribute to SEO-optimized web content and landing pages for product lines.

Event Management and Cross-Functional Support (~10%)

  • Support trade show and conference logistics: booth materials, signage, handouts, talking points, and on-site coordination. Key events include RE+, CLEANPOWER, Intersolar Europe, PVPMC, and European industry conferences. May require multi-day travel a couple times a year.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, designers, and agencies as needed.
  • Help maintain marketing operations infrastructure: email lists, CRM hygiene, campaign tracking, and reporting.
  • Track and report on marketing campaign performance across channels. Maintain dashboards for key metrics (email, webinar, social, web traffic) and provide regular reporting to support budget and resource planning.
  • Help maintain and enforce brand standards across the organization. Support internal teams with on-brand templates, messaging guidelines, and review of customer-facing materials.
  • Pitch in on ad-hoc projects that come with being part of a two-person marketing team at a growing company.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience in B2B software or technology, including SaaS.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex technical products and communicate them clearly to both technical and business audiences.
  • Strong writing and editing skills. You will produce a high volume of written content, and it needs to be sharp, concise, and free of filler.
  • Experience producing marketing collateral across multiple formats: web, email, slide decks, print, video.
  • Comfort working autonomously and managing multiple product lines and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp or similar), webinar tools, and CMS platforms (Webflow, WordPress).
  • Proficiency with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator), Canva, or similar) for producing marketing assets without outside help.
  • Proficiency and eagerness to adopt AI workflows (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.).
  • Experience with PowerPoint for building polished sales and conference presentations.
  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and audience-specific messaging across product positioning, go-to-market materials, campaigns, and stakeholder communications.

Preferred

  • Experience in solar, renewable energy, or energy technology. Understanding of utility-scale project development or EPC workflows is a meaningful advantage.
  • Experience being an early marketing hire at a startup or growth-stage company.
  • Video editing skills (Premiere or similar) for product demos, social clips, and event content.
  • Experience managing paid digital advertising (Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn marketing, including organic content strategy and LinkedIn advertising.
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce) and lead enrichment/GTM/prospecting platforms (Clay, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
  • Comfort with light HTML/CSS for email templates and web content edits.
  • Working knowledge of SEO principles and analytics tools.

LOCATION

This is a hybrid role, requiring multiple days a week in our offices in Berkeley, California. Also requires periodic visits to our facilities in the Sacramento area (2-3 days a month), plus occasional trade shows and industry events (estimated 4-6 events per year, domestic and international).
