Job Overview

The Executive Communications Specialist will assist the Director of Executive Communications in researching, writing, and editing a broad range of written, spoken and digital content for the University of Cincinnati's President, including external messaging, employee communications, executive correspondence, briefing materials, speeches, video scripts, campus-wide messaging, and content that aligns with UC's mission, vision and priorities.

Essential Functions
  • As a key content creator, the Executive Communications Specialist will provide unique insights and writing competencies to develop meaningful stories and messages that support the University's vision and goals as articulated in the strategic plan, Next Lives Here.
  • Responsible for contributing to a high volume of executive remarks and creative content in a complex, deadline-driven environment. Assist with a high volume of imaginative, substantive, and compelling presidential speeches, lectures, columns, essays, articles, presentations, correspondence, and related communications.
  • Partner with the Director of Executive Communications and others from the office to research and collaborate across a wide range of offices and individuals to aid in the writing and/or editing of the President's op-eds, external letters and remarks for high-level speaking opportunities.
  • Create and maintain files, review drafts and finished documents for accuracy and grammar, including documents of a sensitive or confidential nature.
  • Communicate messages in a clear and consistent voice to a variety of audiences and constituencies in various settings.
  • Help prepare special reports, presentations, white papers, position papers and related collateral materials that support presidential and executive leadership issues, programs and activities.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience.
