 Compensation Range: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour (non-exempt hourly)

What We Are Looking For

We're hiring a Class A CDL driver with experience operating gasoline and/or diesel-powered tractor-trailer combinations to transport and deliver products.

Required hour for this position: During our busy season (April – early August) Monday – Friday 7am – 5pm and Saturday 7am – Noon. Otherwise, Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. Exception: When Ceres is responding to storms, extended hours will be required, to include working in adverse weather conditions, occasional extended hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive truck locally and OTR
  • Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips and submit report indicating truck conditions.
  • Maintain driver log according to I.C. regulations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading truck.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED and a minimum of six months’ related experience.
  • Current CDL A Driver's License, clean driving record, and in good standing.
  • Experience driving manual tractor-trailers equipped with walking floor trailers
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to observe safety and security procedures; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Employment history that demonstrates arriving at work on time.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Meets productivity standards.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience driving Front-end loaders, skid steer, plow trucks, salt sanders. 
  • Ability to independently turn a trailer around and securely tie down tarps

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, and balance in varying conditions.
  • Must be able to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have specific vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, etc.).
  • Ability to work in challenging environments including outdoor weather, mechanical areas, heights, confined spaces, and loud noise levels.
