Job description

Job Title: Medical Lead, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)

Accountabilities:

As Medical Lead, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), you will help shape and deliver the US Medical Affairs strategy for a priority hematology oncologyindication. In this highly visible role, you will lead the Core Medical Team, develop and execute the integrated medical plan, and use scientific, clinical, customer, and multi-channel insights to informevidencegeneration, product development, and launch readiness. You will collaborate across Medical, Clinical Development, Patient Safety, Commercial, Market Access, and Field Medical teams to advance science-driven strategies with meaningful impact for patients and the CLL community. Key responsibilities include managing a portfolio of investigator-initiated studies that complement the AstraZeneca clinical development plan, leading the real-world evidence strategy for the assignedindicationor asset from concept through execution and communication, and creating the US publication plan for generated evidence. You will also provide medical review and input for key materials, engage strategic external partners, contribute to safety discussions, and support scientific exchange with field medical and key account teams.

Essential Skills/Experience:
  • A Doctorate in Medicine (M.D, D.O), PhD or PharmD degree plus proven experience

  • A minimum of 5+ years of related work experience in industry, clinical or research institution, preferably in onco-hematology, solid tumors, or related experiences

  • 1-3 years in HQ Medical Affairs role

  • Expert technical depth in disease area - Hematology/Oncology

  • Thorough understanding of drug development and pharmaceutical market support and in-depth knowledge of Hematology/Oncology (clinical evidence and real-world patient management)

  • Strong leadership with a proventrack recordof change and impact

  • Strong business acumen skills and experience withfinancial management

  • Proven ability to interact productively with both commercial and scientific/medical colleagues(including Clinical Development teams), with ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally. Travel will be, asappropriate, up to ~30% of the time

  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills


Desirable Skills/Experience:
  • Active license as Doctorate in Medicine (M.D, D.O), PhD or PharmD degree

  • Additionaltraining such as an M.P.H., M.B.A., or other advanced degree

  • Product Launch Experience and FDA requirements

  • Experience working in US market,

  • Experience in supporting brands or disease area levels in-country, regional, or global organizations is preferred

  • Experience with the clinical management of leukemia disease, chronic and/or acute

  • Experience in evidence generation planning and clinical trial design

  • Experience in a strategy-setting role within Medical Affairs and navigating sophisticated business challenges

  • Experience in developing andmaintaininga network that includes third-party expert

  • Background in practicing medicine, clinical research, and familiarity with biostatistics,epidemiologyand health outcomes

  • Knowledge of relevant Professional Societies and Scientific Medical Experts.

  • Line management (People leadership) withdemonstratedcoaching and mentoring experience

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges $193,281.60 - $289,922.40 USD . Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives-an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
