Job Description Operational Concepts and Wargaming Specialist Location: J81 - Future Capabilities
Duration: Temporary assignment (approx. 2-5 months)
Clearance: Active clearance required Position Overview The Operational Concepts and Wargaming Specialist will support J81's Future Capabilities mission by planning, executing, and analyzing tabletop exercises (TTXs) and wargames focused on future operational concepts and emerging capabilities. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in TTX development, wargame facilitation, operational analysis, or missile-related systems. Location: Offutt AFB, NE STRATCOM Requirements Key Responsibilities * Lead or support the planning, design, and execution of TTXs and wargames on future capabilities and strategic topics, including:
* * Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3)
* Conventional-Nuclear Integration (CNI)
* Coordinate scenario development, player roles, objectives, data collection plans, and after-action methodologies.
* Support an upcoming CNI TTX featuring GOFO participants, ensuring high-quality materials, timelines, and readiness for senior leader engagement.
* Provide analytical support and insight to identify key findings, operational risks, and capability gaps.
* Assist the team in drafting the SLCM-N Concept of Operations (CONOP), contributing operational logic, employment concepts, and integration considerations. Required Qualifications * Experience in TTX or wargame planning and execution (concept development, scenario design, facilitation, or analysis).
* Strong understanding of joint operations, strategic deterrence, or nuclear/conventional integration.
* Ability to work under tight timelines and support senior-leader-level events.
* Excellent writing and communication skills (especially for operational concepts and after-action reporting). Preferred Qualifications * Experience with missile systems, nuclear employment considerations, or NC3.
* Prior involvement in CONOP development or strategic planning documents.
* Familiarity with OSD, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command processes. Assignment Details This is a short-term assignment to surge capacity for ongoing J81 efforts, including the CNI TTX and SLCM-N CONOP development.
