Location: Travis Air Force Base, California
Position: Mindfulness Coach
Program: Holistic Health and Fitness (HHF) Support
Scope
The Mindfulness Coach will provide Holistic Health and Fitness (HHF) support to Airmen assigned to the 621st Contingency Response Wing (CRW). HHF combines athletic training, functional strength, and mindfulness coaching to provide an integrated approach to holistic human development.
The Mindfulness Coach will support the non-physical performance component of the Human Performance program, with emphasis on enhancing cognitive resilience, decision-making under stress, fatigue management, mindfulness, and overall mission readiness.
Description of Services / Introduction
The contractor shall provide qualified personnel and all necessary non-personal services required to accomplish the performance objectives established by the PWS.
Mindfulness Coaching services will contribute to the integrated Human Performance program supporting Airmen who operate in high-tempo, short-notice, austere, resource-limited, and rapidly changing environments.
The Mindfulness Coach will provide support designed to enhance the ability of Airmen to maintain optimal non-physical performance and resilience while meeting the demands of CRW missions.
Background
The 621st Contingency Response Wing requires Holistic Health and Fitness support to increase readiness and lethality, improve optimal physical and non-physical performance, reduce injury rates, improve rehabilitation after injury, and increase mindfulness among Airmen assigned to the Wing.
The CRW requires personnel prepared to perform global mobility, airbase opening, and contingency response missions, including extended operations with limited rest cycles and high-tempo operational requirements.
Objectives
The Mindfulness Coach will support objectives to:
  • Improve Airmen's mission-ready mental performance.
  • Enhance cognitive resilience.
  • Support decision-making under stress.
  • Support fatigue management.
  • Increase mindfulness among CRW Airmen.
  • Provide Human Performance solutions tailored to CRW mission sets.
  • Support the varied demands of individual Air Force Specialty Codes.
  • Provide portable, mission-specific Human Performance guidance that Airmen can utilize before and during deployments.
  • Contribute to an integrated holistic evaluation of CRW Airmen.
  • Support sustained readiness across the CRW.
Hours of Operation
Services will be provided primarily during the military working day, with an expected workday of eight (8) hours. The nature of the effort may periodically require nonstandard work hours.
*Position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
  • Supporting integrated holistic Human Performance evaluations.
  • Providing mindfulness coaching and related Human Performance support.
  • Developing and providing mission-specific guidance appropriate to CRW personnel.
  • Supporting cognitive resilience, decision-making under stress, and fatigue management objectives.
  • Participating in rotational squadron embedment for 30 consecutive days.
  • Coordinating with squadron UFPMs and other Human Performance personnel.
  • Supporting individual interactions and sessions based on scheduling availability.
  • Supporting mission-specific training and performance sessions.
  • Maintaining secure and compliant records of assessments, training sessions, and outcomes.
  • Providing required documentation and monthly performance reporting.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology or Counseling with a National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) accreditation for National Certified Counselor (NCC).
  • Possess a SECRET or provisional SECRET security clearance prior to starting work and maintain the required security clearance for the duration of the contract.

Security Clearance & Installation Requirements
  • Comply with applicable security, safety, installation access, and force protection requirements.
  • Complete required background and installation access checks.
  • Obtain a Department of War Common Access Card (CAC), when required under the PWS.
  • Complete Antiterrorism Level I Awareness Training within 30 calendar days after contract start, with annual completion required.
  • Comply with applicable OPSEC requirements.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Pass required illegal drug screening.
  • Maintain all required certifications throughout contract performance.
  • Possess the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office and standard office automation tools.

The Mindfulness Coach will also be required to attend the 621st CRW Devil Development course within the first 90 days of contract performance to develop an understanding of the CRW organization, structure, and mission.
