Part-time | Hands-on work | Customer-focused local business

About the job

Verlo Mattress of St. Charles/Yorkville is looking for a reliable, hard-working person to help build locally made mattresses and deliver them into our customers' homes. This is a good part-time role for someone who likes hands-on work, takes pride in doing a job the right way, and wants to work for a company that treats customers with care and respect.

We are a local mattress business serving the greater Fox Valley area. Our goal is simple: build quality mattresses, take care of people, and create long-term relationships with our customers. The person in this role will be an important part of that promise.

Why this may be a good fit

You enjoy physical, hands-on work and like seeing the finished product of your effort.

You are dependable and want steady part-time hours with a local company.

You take pride in showing up on time, working safely, and treating people well.

You are comfortable working in a shop/warehouse setting and going into customers' homes for deliveries.

You understand that how we deliver, set up, and clean up is just as important as the mattress itself.

What you will do

Mattress building and production

Help build Verlo mattresses using work orders and standard production steps.

Cut, sew, staple, assemble, package, and label mattress materials as needed.

Receive, stock, organize, and help manage inventory and supplies.

Keep the production and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.

Let a supervisor know about material, equipment, or quality issues right away.

Learn different parts of the production process so the team can work efficiently.

Delivery and customer service

Help load, deliver, set up, and remove mattresses, adjustable bases, and related products.

Make sure the correct products are loaded and delivered to the right customer.

Treat every customer's home with care, including protecting walls, floors, doorways, and personal property.

Be respectful of customer privacy and delivery time windows.

Provide basic product demonstrations when needed.

Help keep the delivery truck clean, fueled, organized, and ready for the day.

Assist with vendor shipments, warehouse organization, and other team needs.

What we are looking for

A dependable adult who is comfortable with physical work and customer interaction.

A valid Illinois driver's license and at least 3 years of driving experience.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Good communication skills and a respectful, professional attitude.

Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

Basic math skills and the ability to follow written work orders.

Ability to use work-related tools, equipment, and materials responsibly.

Appropriate dress, hygiene, and demeanor when representing the company.

Reliable transportation to work.

Ability to pass a background check

Physical requirements

This job includes regular physical activity. Team members must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist, push, pull, climb stairs, carry products, and lift up to 50 lbs., with heavier lifting required at times as part of a team.

Schedule and pay

Part-time position.

$25/hour.

Tips and bonus pay opportunities.

The kind of person who will do well here

The right person for this job is not just looking to punch a clock. We are looking for someone who works hard, handles responsibility well, respects customers, and takes pride in helping people sleep better. If you like practical work, enjoy being part of a small team, and want to represent a local business that cares about doing things the right way, we would like to talk with you.

To apply: Please submit your work history and a brief note about why this part-time role interests you.
