Job description

Position: Reclamation  Operator 
Department: Seeding
Reports to: Manager

Operating reclamation equipment, including tractors, seeding implements, and hydroseeders.

Install seeding BMPs in accordance with DTEC’s quality and output standards while meeting the client

expectations and municipality requirements. Successful operators will be the example for quality, safety, and
output as well as modeling DTEC’s values. Act as field ambassador to the public.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Has knowledge and ability to install various seeding products (tractor seeding, skid seeding, hydro
    seeding, amendments).
  • Required to use PPE and follow DTEC’s safety policies and procedures.
  •  Contributes to maintenance of all seeding equipment (applying grease, tightening bolts, cleaning
    radiators and air filters, cutting strings, rinsing/cleaning hydroseeding rig).
  •  Ensuring production is as efficient as possible while minimizing downtime.
  •  Proactively identify and avoid potential hazards.
  •  Proactively reduce material waste.
  •  Meticulously maintain the appearance of equipment and jobsites.
  •  Always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
  •  Clean the jobsite and truck at the end of each day and leave it in better condition than it was found.
  •  Understand, agree, and commit to DTEC company values.
  •  Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Communicate with manager daily 
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Attributes:

  •  Maintain an outstanding pace of work consistently through 8-12 hour shifts.
  •  Punctual and reliable.
  •  Complete understanding of proper seeding process procedures.
  •  Uses effective judgement benefiting the client, the company, and the team.
  •  Follows instructions given by the Seeding Manager.
  •  Appropriate appearance. Positive attitude. Respectable Communication with clients and all employees.
  •  Creatively overcomes obstacles and committed to outstanding results.

  • Drivers license
  • Pass drug test
  • CDL
