Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Container Centralen, Inc (CC, Inc) has rapidly established itself as the largest rack/cart supplier to the North American horticultural industry. We provide the industry with access to approximately 850,000 shipping racks/carts for delivery of live plants to garden center retailers. We operate a unique and powerful business model which allows us to offer high-value asset rental and logistics services to our Customers.
PURPOSE
Expand and improve the CC's Operations function so that customers have timely access to equipment, while cost and quality goals are achieved.
JOB DUTIES
Logistics Coordinator
  • Act as a logistics coordinator facilitating the transportation of CC assets and other assigned equipment from warehouses, retail stores and growers to customers throughout the United States and Canada
  • Coordinate carrier information for different modes of transportation
  • Coordinate carrier rates and maintain a database structure provided
  • Execute follow up processes to obtain real time information for ETA's
  • Provide and or create customer reporting
  • Assist in the recovering of CC product from remote markets
  • Support Recovery Manager and the other Logistics Coordinators for transportation related activities in their assigned region
  • Support all functional groups as needed
  • Carrier management and rate negotiations

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or advanced degree from an accredited university or trade school
  • Minimum 1-year experience in a fast-paced customer interacting role (preferred experience in Logistics/Supply Chain/Equipment Handling)
  • Ability to manage detailed data or information
  • Demonstrated capability with Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer
  • Carrier management and rate negotiations for multi-mode transportation
  • TMS skills utilizing one of the industry standard management systems
  • Strong communication skills related to phone interaction with customers and vendors
  • Demonstrated capability using Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks & projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with a minimal amount of supervision
  • Demonstrated flexibility to work as an individual contributor or as part of a team
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be part of a small, rapidly changing organization
  • Willingness to travel on an as-needed basis (<5>
