Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8–12 hour shifts (schedule may vary based on business needs)

Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Dispatch Assistant to join our transportation and logistics team. This position plays a key role in coordinating daily intermodal dispatch operations, communicating with drivers, tracking container movements, and ensuring timely deliveries while providing outstanding customer service.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, bilingual, and experienced in the transportation and logistics industry.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule container pickups and deliveries.

  • Dispatch drivers and communicate route assignments, schedules, and any changes.

  • Track container movements and provide timely updates to customers.

  • Maintain accurate dispatch records, driver logs, and transportation documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, transportation laws, and company policies.

  • Perform data entry and maintain dispatch reports.

  • Answer incoming phone calls and emails professionally.

  • Assist the Operations Manager with daily dispatch activities.

  • Resolve scheduling issues while providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience in intermodal transportation, trucking, container logistics, or drayage operations required.

  • Experience coordinating port/container movements is highly preferred.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Experience using V-Intermodal dispatch software is a plus.

  • Ability to quickly learn transportation management systems.

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation laws, and industry best practices is preferred.

  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
