Position Summary
The Director of Finance reports directly to the President and is responsible for providing financial oversight and support of school operations and strategic goals. This individual leads the Business Office, safeguards the financial health of the school, and partners with school leadership and the Board to ensure sound fiscal stewardship in service of the school's mission.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Oversees preparation of the annual operating and capital budget.
Completes the monthly and yearly closing process.
Provides monthly financial reports and analysis to leadership.
Oversees Accounts Receivable, Cash Receipts, Accounts Payable, and Payroll. Operations & Systems
Approves vendor contracts and financial obligations.
Works with the team and vendor to improve and optimize the new financial system. Leadership & Human Resources
Supervises Business Office staff.
Oversees human resource functions, including contracts, benefits, and employee relations.
Financial Aid
Oversees financial aid awards and appeals, including setting related policies and procedures.
Board & Capital Initiatives
Coordinates the Finance and Facilities Committees of the Board.
Oversees all financial processes and reporting related to the capital campaign and building project, including bank debt and financing covenants.
Assists the Development Office with financial operations.
Other
Performs other duties as assigned by the President.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ability to communicate effectively with staff, community, Board, and families. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and QuickBooks Online.
Preferred
CPA certification.
Supervisory experience.
Non-profit experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, and the applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
A comprehensive package of benefits is offered, including two medical plan options, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long-term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation, and holidays.

Our School Schedule - 4 Means More - Our schedule runs Tuesday through Friday, except for once-monthly Monday Professional Development days. This shift allows the school community to use Mondays to focus on community service, faith, and family - pillars that guide the mission of the school. The schedule gives teachers and staff time to better prepare for classes and develop professionally, creating more time for collaboration, while students gain additional time for study and community service.
