Job description

About the Company

CNDUIT is a cannabis cultivation and manufacturing company that believes exceptional operations are built through disciplined leadership, strong systems, and continuous improvement. As we continue to grow, we're looking for experienced leaders who take ownership, develop exceptional teams, and build operations capable of performing at a consistently high level.

About the Role

The Operations Manager owns the performance of CNDUIT's Washington post-harvest operation, leading every stage from harvest intake through customer shipment. This role is responsible for transforming harvested cannabis into finished, compliant, customer-ready products by leading multiple departments, developing high-performing leaders, and building the operational systems that drive safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the Operations Manager provides day-to-day leadership across post-harvest processing, production, packaging, laboratory operations, inventory, fulfillment, logistics, and compliance. This individual connects post-harvest operations with cultivation, sales, and executive leadership while ensuring consistent execution across every department. Success in this role requires an accomplished operations leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and has a proven ability to develop leaders, make sound decisions, and drive operational performance through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead all post-harvest operations from harvest intake through customer shipment.
  • Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure operational objectives are achieved across all departments.
  • Hold department managers accountable for results while maintaining clear ownership, communication, and coordination across the operation.

Production & Fulfillment

  • Oversee production, packaging, inventory, laboratory, fulfillment, logistics, and shipping operations.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable execution while maintaining product quality and customer service standards.
  • Partner with Sales to align operational capacity with customer demand.

Operational Excellence

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational systems, metrics, and processes that increase efficiency, throughput, quality, and scalability.
  • Maintain standardized operating procedures and ensure improvements are documented, adopted, and sustained across all departments.

People Leadership

  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing department managers and future leaders.
  • Establish clear expectations and reinforce accountability, communication, safety, and professional development across all departments.
  • Manage employee relations and labor practices in compliance with company policy and applicable employment laws.

Planning & Cross-Functional Execution

  • Maintain clear visibility into upcoming harvests, including expected timing and projected volume, to ensure labor and downstream operations are prepared.
  • Use production, quality, inventory, and sales data to guide operational decisions and inform future cultivation planning.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and business growth.

Compliance & Inventory Stewardship

  • Ensure regulatory compliance, inventory integrity, product traceability, and audit readiness across all post-harvest operations.
  • Protect company assets through disciplined inventory management and operational controls.

Financial Stewardship

  • Manage labor utilization, departmental spending, and operational resources to achieve productivity and financial objectives.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality, compliance, or customer service.

Indicators of Success

  • Post-harvest operations execute safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Production throughput consistently meets or exceeds operational targets.
  • Inventory accuracy and product integrity remain consistently high.
  • Regulatory compliance and audit readiness are maintained without exception.
  • Department managers demonstrate strong accountability, engagement, and continued professional growth.
  • Labor utilization and operating expenses remain predictable and aligned with business objectives.
  • Operational metrics are visible, actionable, and used to drive continuous improvement.
  • Cross-functional planning and communication support consistent execution.
  • The operation gains capacity and efficiency without sacrificing quality, compliance, or control.

Qualifications

  • Significant operations leadership experience within a complex manufacturing, production, or fulfillment environment, including responsibility for multiple departments and the development of department managers.
  • Direct cannabis operations experience strongly preferred, particularly within post-harvest, manufacturing, inventory, fulfillment, or multi-department cannabis operations.
  • Proven ability to improve operational systems, processes, throughput, quality, and cost performance.
  • Strong working knowledge of labor planning, budgeting, inventory control, regulatory compliance, and performance management.
  • Ability to interpret operational and financial data and use it to make sound business decisions.
  • Experience managing employee relations and labor practices in compliance with applicable employment laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent leadership experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Leadership Profile

Successful leaders at CNDUIT bring clarity to complex operational environments, set a high standard, and create accountability without unnecessary oversight. They make sound decisions in complex and evolving situations, remain steady as priorities shift, and develop managers who can lead independently. They address problems directly, balance immediate execution with long-term improvement, and understand that durable results are built through disciplined leadership, strong systems, and relentless execution.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.

Benefits

  • Medical insurance available, 75% employer contribution
  • Dental and vision insurance
