Job Summary:
System Administrator will serve as a technical cornerstone of the company’s IT operations, responsible for the reliability, security, and performance of all on-premises and cloud-based systems. Reporting to the IT Director, this role requires a hands-on, solutions-oriented professional who can operate independently, support end users at a high level, and contribute to IT strategy and infrastructure planning.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Installs, configures, and maintains server infrastructure, including physical and virtual environments (VMware ESXi and other hypervisors).
  • Manages and administers Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
  • Administers and supports NetSuite ERP, including user management, system configuration, and coordination with vendors on integrations and upgrades.
  • Manages Zoho Desk ticketing platform, including configuration, workflow automation, reporting, and day-to-day administration.
  • Manages VoIP telephony systems, including provisioning, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
  • Develops and maintains business continuity and disaster recovery plans, including backup systems and failover procedures.
  • Oversees endpoint security, patch management, antivirus/EDR solutions, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Provides Tier 2/3 technical support to end users, escalating to vendors as needed and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Documents systems, configurations, processes, and runbooks to maintain accurate and current IT knowledge base.
  • Evaluates and recommends new technologies, tools, and solutions to improve efficiency, security, and scalability.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) administration.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi environments; familiarity with other hypervisors a plus.
  • Experience administering NetSuite ERP, including user roles, workflows, and integrations.
  • Experience with Zoho Desk or a comparable ITSM/ticketing platform.
  • Experience managing VoIP systems (provisioning, troubleshooting, vendor coordination).
  • Proficient with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams administration.
  • Experience working in cloud and hybrid environments (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, endpoint protection, and patch management best practices.
  • Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM frameworks and IT service management best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a methodical, documentation-first approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required; equivalent work experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a system administration or IT infrastructure role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise environments with 100+ users.
  • Ability to travel out of state as needed.
  • Relevant certifications preferred: Microsoft (MS-102, AZ-104), CompTIA Network+/Security+, VMware VCP, or ITIL Foundation.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds at times.
