Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a research or quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience designing, scoping, executing, and delivering research and analysis projects.
  • 5 years of experience translating business problems into research questions and translating research findings and insights into marketing recommendations.
  • Experience managing research and measurement agencies.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience with qualitative research methods and approaches.
  • 5 years of experience with sampling, survey writing, and analysis of survey data including weighting and assessing data quality.
  • 5 years of experience with designing experiments, analyzing data from experiments, and summarizing findings.
  • 5 years of experience analyzing and manipulating data sets to leverage data insights into presentations for business stakeholders.
  • 3 years of experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL) and tools to work with data sets.

As an Insights Manager on the YouTube Marketing team, your mission is to maximize YouTube Marketing's impact through audience-centric, objective insights that identify opportunities for YouTube and fuel data-driven product and marketing strategy.
Joining the YouTube Marketing team as the Insights Manager, your research will uncover the motivations, behaviors, and unmet needs of both our viewers and creators. Your insights will directly influence how we engage and retain these critical audiences as we launch new products and features in new markets around the world.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver research programs in their entirety, managing agencies, project briefing, research design, analysis planning, and final delivery of results to global stakeholders.
  • Execute a range of research projects including personas, positioning, messaging, feature prioritization, creative testing, and ad hoc analysis.
  • Use multiple datasets, such as Creator surveys, syndicated data, social data, and primary quantitative or qualitative research, to tell a full story about user needs and brand services.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships to identify business questions and opportunities, delivering insights that influence YouTube marketing strategies.
  • Share research findings and insights via presentations in forums large and small, with everyone from junior to executive staff.
