First homesteaded in 1915, the Ranch has grown into one of the premier guest ranch destinations in the American West, offering a unique blend of authentic hospitality, rich history, thoughtful luxury, and year-round outdoor adventure.

The property features 25 hand-hewn cabins, the renowned Horn & Cantle Restaurant and Saloon, the Ranch Hall, the Outpost, equestrian facilities, Nordic ski trails, event spaces, and expansive access to the surrounding Montana landscape. Lone Mountain Ranch is proud to be recognized as a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and a longtime member of the Dude Ranchers' Association.

About the Role

The Auric Room Line Cook is an integral part of our evening culinary team, helping create exceptional dining experiences in one of Lone Mountain Ranch's most elevated dining environments. Working alongside a talented culinary team, this position is responsible for preparing and presenting dishes that showcase high-quality ingredients, refined techniques, and thoughtful attention to detail.

This role is ideal for a cook who is passionate about their craft, enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, and takes pride in delivering consistently exceptional food. The Auric Room Line Cook contributes to an experience that reflects the Ranch's commitment to hospitality, quality, and memorable guest experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and execute menu items with consistency, precision, and attention to presentation
  • Maintain organized, well-stocked stations to support efficient evening service
  • Assist with daily preparation and production to ensure ingredients are fresh and service-ready
  • Follow recipes, portion standards, and cooking techniques to maintain quality and consistency
  • Work collaboratively with culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure timely and accurate food delivery
  • Accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests with professionalism and attention to detail
  • Monitor food quality, temperatures, and presentation throughout service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • Assist with closing duties, cleaning procedures, and preparation for future service periods
  • Support a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Previous culinary experience in a restaurant, resort, or upscale dining environment preferred
  • Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of culinary techniques
