About the Role:

The Yardman at Endura Steel Hesperia plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and movement of steel products within the manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for maintaining an organized yard environment that supports seamless production workflows and timely delivery schedules. The Yardman will coordinate closely with production, shipping, and receiving teams to manage inventory and facilitate the safe loading and unloading of materials. Ultimately, the Yardman contributes to the overall operational excellence and customer satisfaction by supporting the durable goods manufacturing process through effective yard management.


Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and move steel materials using forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Assist with receiving incoming steel deliveries; verify quantities, sizes, and material specifications.
  • Pull and stage orders accurately based on job tickets, customer orders, or production needs.
  • Band, bundle, and secure steel products to ensure safe transportation and storage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free yard, including proper storage of materials
  • Inspect equipment daily before use and report any issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance such as greasing, fueling, and safety checks.
  • Assist customers, drivers, and internal staff with locating and loading materials.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and equipment operation guidelines.
  • Support cutting, fabrication, or production areas as assigned (e.g., helping move raw material to machines).
  • Complete paperwork, tags, and inventory records accurately and timely.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and team members to coordinate yard flow.
  • Participate in safety meetings, trainings, and ongoing operational improvement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
