Walmart is seeking a Senior Manager, Automation Engineering to join the Transportation Engineering team and help architect the future of one of the largest private fleets in North America. This role will focus on advancing yard modernization initiatives to shape the future of our distribution center yards improving efficiency, enhancing safety, and delivering business value. They will collaborate with product, technology, and operations on solution design and deployment. You’ll research emerging technologies, design scalable infrastructure solutions, lead pilots, and operationalize next-generation transportation systems .
About the team:
Join Walmart’s Transportation Engineering team, a leader in advancing one of North America’s largest private fleets. This team drives innovation in zero-emissions technology, autonomous vehicle systems, and yard modernization. Operating at the intersection of automation, infrastructure, and large-scale operations, the team develops and deploys cutting-edge fleet technologies and modernizes distribution center yards. Collaborating with internal and external partners, the team advances solutions from concept to scaled deployment, ensuring operational efficiency and financial viability. This group shapes Walmart’s transportation strategy through continuous improvement, advanced analytics, and project management excellence.
What you'll do:
  • Lead the design, development, and integration of automation systems to enhance operational efficiency.
