About the Role:

The Marine Master Yamaha or Mercury Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of marine engines and related systems. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Yamaha or Mercury marine outboard engines to meet manufacturer standards and customer expectations. The technician will work closely with customers to understand their needs, provide expert advice, and deliver high-quality service that enhances customer satisfaction and loyalty. Additionally, the role requires staying current with the latest marine technology advancements and manufacturer updates to effectively troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electronic issues. Ultimately, the Marine Master Technician contributes to the overall success of the service department by maintaining a high standard of workmanship and professionalism in all tasks performed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified Marine Technician with specialization in Yamaha or Mercury engines.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining marine engines.
  • Strong understanding of marine engine diagnostics, electrical systems, and mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in various marine environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications from Yamaha or Mercury Marine Technical Training programs.
  • Experience with computerized diagnostic tools and marine engine management software.
  • Familiarity with both outboard and inboard engine systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior technicians and lead service projects.
