About the Organization
St. Francis Yacht Club is one of the premier yacht clubs in the world, home to 3,200 esteemed and diverse members, all of whom share a passion for yachting. Located on the shore of the San Francisco Bay, the City Clubhouse features three unique dining spaces, numerous elegant event spaces and athletic facilities for junior sailors and adults alike. The Club's regatta schedule is one of the most competitive in the world, playing host to 140+ days of racing, including several Grade 1 International regattas.

Overnight Watchperson & Island Operations
Full-Time • $25/hr • Overnight Shift (11:30 p.m.-8:00 a.m.)
The Overnight Watchperson & Island Operations is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and smooth overnight operation of the Club and Tinsley Island facilities. This role includes overnight on-site coverage, security monitoring, emergency response, and support for general island operations. Overnight accommodation is provided 5 nights per week based on seasonal needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overnight security presence; conduct scheduled property rounds.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, building access, cooler/freezer temps and emergency systems and docks.
  • Secure buildings, respond to incidents, and complete nightly reports.
  • Assist with island operations including boat/equipment upkeep, facility systems, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Support functions: phones, member assistance, reservations, guest logs, and basic administrative tasks.
  • Perform some administrative duties, as needed.
  • Perform some maintenance and grounds duties, as needed.
  • Serve as Island Safety Officer, ensuring compliance and readiness of safety equipment.

Qualifications
  • 3-6 months related experience or equivalent education/training.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).

  • Must have boat-handling and mechanical skills.
  • Must obtain a CA Boaters card.
