This job opportunity at PDS Tech Commercial for aluminum welders/shipfitters is designed for skilled professionals looking to advance their careers in metal fabrication, especially in yacht building.

  • Role: Aluminum Welder/Shipfitter

  • Responsibilities: Perform certified aluminum welding (MIG/TIG) in all positions; work from drawings, prints, specs, and instructions; weld and fit aluminum, stainless steel, and occasional non-ferrous materials; assist or perform fitter functions for proper assembly.

  • Materials: Aluminum plates/extrusions, stainless steel, and other materials used in yacht building.

  • Tools: Operate equipment like shears, presses, grinders, air-saws, clamps, welders, and more. Employees must supply and maintain their own hand tools.

  • Skill Levels: There are three skill levels (1 to 3), with advancement based on need, ability, and approval by management. Career growth is tied to continuous learning and skill development.

  • Education: High school or technical school background with training in print reading, measurement, and tool use is required.

  • Reporting to: Metals Manager

  • Environment: Emphasis on continuous learning, creativity, and process improvement.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $37.00 per hour
