Job description

Forest River, Inc., the Nation's largest manufacturer of Recreational Vehicles, Cargo Trailers, Transit Buses and Boats has an immediate opening.
Job Responsibility:
  • Oversee production and managerial duties of Coachmen RV's Chassis Division
  • Utilize Auto CAD and Inventor on a daily basis
  • Utilize Vault for CAD file storage
  • Create chassis stretch-related designs
    • Fishplate for lengthening wheelbase
    • Brake lines
    • Fuel lines
    • Drive lines
      • angles
      • Shaft configurations (length, tube diameter, components)
  • Create electrical harnesses
    • Carbon canister extensions
    • ABS extensions
    • Fuel pump / sending unit extensions
  • Create fixture designs
  • Work with OEM (Ford, Chevy, Ram, Mercedes) on upcoming changes that affect upfit
  • Assist plants with any structural design-related questions
  • Assist plants by converting vendor 3D designs into 2D models for their use
  • Be main contact for Ford Pro and the Ford Pro (QVM) program
    • Be able to submit documentation of OEMs upon request to meet standards
    • Participate in audits of the facilities once a year with reps from OEMs
  • Manage scale maintenance
  • Manage the Upfiter poral for Coachmen's Sprinter Division

Qualifications:
  • M.E. degree required
  • Thorough understanding of FEA is desired
  • Knowledge of the RV industry is a plus
  • Experience in Auto CAD and Inventor
  • Effective communication skills
  • Management experience a plus

Physical Demands:
• Exposure to industry accepted chemicals, and noise, dust
• Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility
