Microsoft's Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP's vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities at scale. Our mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Responsibilities
  • Partnership and Collaboration Builds cross-team coordination and a business-engineering community to solve complex process and technology challenges, deliver solutions, and align key stakeholders.
  • Coaches the team to influence stakeholders and secure support for the solution vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Oversees engagement to define requirements, align priorities, resources, dependencies, and decisions, track business value and ROI, and prioritize complex projects against strategic and practical constraints.
  • People Management Delivers results through empowerment and accountability by modeling culture and values, coaching toward clear objectives and cross-boundary success, and supporting talent growth, retention, and development.
  • Portfolio/Project Management Mentors the team to manage end-to-end schedules, enforce accountability, and align work, dependencies, and resources across projects.
  • Oversees risk mitigation, resource allocation, progress reporting, and communications for large-scale initiatives.
  • Solution Definition and Design Ensures the team understands and prioritizes complex problems and solution areas.
  • Directs identification of opportunities and privacy, compliance, and employee experience needs that support business goals, and oversees stakeholder alignment to validate priorities and accelerate delivery.
  • Sets direction for translating complex opportunities into business requirements and ensuring they are clearly translated for engineering teams.
  • Defines success criteria and metrics for high-impact solutions, including KPIs, OKRs, and adoption, engagement, and latency measures.
  • Reviews and communicates status to senior leaders and stakeholders to maintain alignment and mitigate delays.
  • Partners with engineering teams to build roadmaps and solutions for complex, high-impact areas, incorporating technical, security, compliance, and business needs.
  • Sets direction for features and functionality, and holds the team accountable for roadmaps, timelines, risks, dependencies, decisions, and stakeholder communication.
  • Oversees the vision, strategy, and experience for multiple complex, high-impact solution areas.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to align technical solutions with business strategy, security, and quality principles, drives adoption of emerging technologies, and leads needs assessments to inform major decisions.
  • Solution Delivery and Maintenance Sets direction for user acceptance testing and focus groups to validate end-user needs and experience.
  • Guides post-launch maturity by addressing customer concerns, validating requirements, and defining documentation and enablement strategies to support adoption.
  • Builds strong engineering partnerships to deliver high-impact solutions and reduce variance between estimates and outcomes.
  • Mentors the team to drive integration and process improvement, ensure execution quality, and deliver scope that meets business requirements and captures program value.
  • Reviews success metrics and customer feedback to optimize solution performance.
  • Sets direction for issue resolution, evaluates alignment to business objectives, and oversees governance of performance data.
  • Thought Leadership Applies deep expertise in technology and business operations to align solutions to business value.
  • Champions proof-of-concept efforts, evaluates technology fit for partner needs, and fosters innovation through ongoing research into emerging technologies.
  • Sets strategy to prepare stakeholders and partners for complex change driven by new solutions, enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Holds the team accountable for adoption, builds cross-team partnerships, oversees change and communication plans, and establishes best practices for training and enablement.
  • Coaches and mentors the team to apply expertise and best practices to business and technical decisions.
  • Oversees resolution of complex challenges and influences resource decisions that best support strategic objectives and impact.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 15+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years people management experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain Planning.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Cloud Industry.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Continuous Improvement certification, Lean Six Sigma certification, or equivalent.
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) or equivalent.
  • Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci Certification).

Technical Solution Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
