Job description

Community Outreach Coordinator - Unity World Headquarters

Position Summary: The Community Outreach Coordinator serves as a catalytic field liaison within Unity’s movement architecture—cultivating Pods, Small Groups, Chapters, and increasing the energy and footprint of Unity churches. This role coordinates Unity’s shift from maintaining institutions to activating a spiritually intelligent movement.

The Community Outreach Coordinator identifies emerging leaders, equips them with replicable systems, guides them through defined formation pathways, and drives measurable growth across Unity’s ecosystem. This is not an administrative support role. This position is supported in their role by UC&L and UWH team experts dedicated to spiritual activation, structured development, and movement growth.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Launch and support Pods as micro activation hubs, ensuring each Pod has a clear purpose, leader, and growth pathway.
  2. Build and sustain Small Groups, providing leaders with formation tools, curricula, and coaching.
  3. Activate and guide Chapters aligned to Unity’s Charter, supporting governance, alignment, and local expression.
  4. Partner with church leaders to strengthen, revitalize, and expand Unity churches, using replicable models and measurable growth strategies.
  5. Identify emerging leaders across all channels; assess readiness and move candidates through formation pathways.
  6. Equip leaders with systems, templates, rhythms, and structures that promote reproduction and sustainability.
  7. Maintain dashboards and simple tracking systems that measure growth in Pods, Small Groups, Chapters, and church expansion.
  8. Collaborate cross-functionally with Education, Ministry Pathways, Communities, and Communications to support movement activation.
  9. Facilitate online and in-person training sessions, gatherings, and coaching cohorts.
  10. Conduct field visits as needed to support local leaders, assess vitality, and catalyze expansion.
  11. Represent Unity’s movement architecture with clarity, consistency, and enthusiasm.
  12. Regular and reliable attendance; adherence to assigned schedule – this is a remote position.
  13. Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  14. Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance, and paid time off requests.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in ministry, leadership, organizational development, or related field.

Experience:

  • Must be an ordained and licensed Unity Minister in good standing, with demonstrated experience in church leadership, ministerial transitions, and Charter-aligned governance.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in ministry leadership, community organizing, church growth, discipleship pathways, or movement-building roles.
  • Proven experience launching groups, leading teams, or expanding spiritual communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders and manage growth systems.

Skills:

  • Strong relational leadership and ability to inspire volunteers and leaders.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to build growth-oriented systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and facilitation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives across distributed geographic settings.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office, databases, and digital platforms to track movement progress.
  • Comfort with field engagement, both virtual and in-person.

Competency:

  • Movement Orientation: Demonstrates an understanding of movement dynamics, spiritual activation, and structured growth.
  • Leadership Development: Identifies, equips, and empowers emerging leaders.
  • Catalytic Mindset: Initiates growth, drives momentum, and removes barriers to expansion.
  • Organizational Agility: Thrives in a rapidly shifting environment focused on growth culture.
  • Accountability: Holds self and leaders to measurable outcomes and commitments.
  • Adaptability: Navigates evolving needs across Pods, Small Groups, Chapters, and churches.
