The VP, Workplace Advisory role will play a crucial part in developing workplace strategy solutions and leading client-facing project engagements around the future of work, portfolio optimization, workplace planning and recommendations. In addition to a consulting, planning and technical background, the role requires strong presentation and organizational skills. 20-25% travel is required for this role.

What this job involves:

Sales & Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Partner with our brokers and other salespeople for business development and client service delivery
  • Contribute as a key member of client facing team to develop, implement, and manage Workplace Strategy programs
    • This will include benchmarking current spaces and comparing to industry peers or researching an organizations current workplace environment and identifying areas of potential improvements related to space usage, culture, or demographics.
    • Lead programming efforts, employee surveys, test-fits, business interviews, utilization studies, mobility assessments, visioning sessions and focus groups.
  • Support achievement of our practice's targeted annual revenue goals by participating in and leading key aspects of business development and consulting engagements with effective and profitable management of project teams and resources
  • A significant focus on helping our sales teams win new business by contributing to pursuits, client presentations, and proposals
  • Work with JLL Marketing and Research to create workplace collateral and thought leadership pieces organized by different industry types.
  • Contribute to growth and differentiation of the practice by assisting in the development of "best practice" consulting processes, approaches, tools and client deliverables
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) by staying abreast of current issues and trends in business, corporate real estate, workplace strategies, occupancy planning, and organizational development and through active participation in relevant industry forums and professional associations

Relationship Management / Delivery:

  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal customers (brokers, leadership, etc.) and key clients
  • Serve as the project Engagement Manager for strategic projects
  • Understand the real estate project life cycle and be able to gather and analyze data and develop insights to inform business decisions specific to existing and future client requirements
  • Act as escalation point for delivery issues
  • Manage consistent delivery of Workplace & Occupancy Planning and ensure high level of execution and client satisfaction

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have a strong combination of Workplace and/or Occupancy Planning experience, the ability to win business, and deliver workplace projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (Required)
  • MBA, advanced degree and/or certifications (Preferred)
  • 10+ years' related experience in Workplace strategy, architecture, consulting, corporate real estate, facilities management, project management, construction management, design, human resources, organizational development, communications or change management roles
  • Strong background in business development and point-of-sale presentation skills
  • Impeccable and concise communication skills
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Strong time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • People management experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCad, REVIT, BIM or other drafting technologies (Required)
  • Proficiency in CAFM/IWMS system technologies (Preferred)

Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in an agile environment, including virtual collaboration with remote colleagues
  • Ability to multi-task and successfully work in a team and individually in high-pressure deadline driven environments
  • Previously managed multiple projects and coordinated activities for various individuals/groups
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative research data and synthesize meaningful and actionable results
  • Energetic, creative, and willing to work hard in a fast-paced environment; enjoys variety and challenges of consulting work
  • An entrepreneurial orientation with strong understanding of the business development challenges in the Real Estate advisory services sector
  • Workplace program implementation experience in a corporate setting, working alongside cross-functional real estate, facilities, IT, HR, Finance and change management teams, would be highly valuable.
  • Current knowledge of corporate enterprise IT infrastructure, tools and technologies desirable
  • Exposure to Six Sigma approaches and/or business process development desirable

  • INFLUENCE: Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal. Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization. Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.
  • PROJECT & CHANGE MANAGEMENT: Knows how to effectively structure, staff and manage projects and teams to insure there is clarity of expectation, timely execution, corrective action when needed and successful outcomes. The ideal candidate will also possess change management - skills and be able to successfully implement change/transformation initiatives and drive desired behaviors.
  • ANALYTICS: Has a structured approach to problem solving with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics. Drives to fix the ultimate root causes to drive sustainable change.
  • CHARACTER: Shows character with high perseverance and resourcefulness required to keep driving and finding ways to get the required steps done.
  • FLEXIBLE & ADAPTABLE: Able to work in ambiguous situations. Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere. Forward looking with a holistic approach

Estimated compensation for this position:

120,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
