Position Summary
NOTE: CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE OBSERVES EASTERN TIME.
Pursuant to Alabama Act. 2024-360 and the Alabama Community College Policy and Procedure 204.01, neither tenure nor non-probationary status may be attained in this position.

Under the general direction of the Associate Dean of Career and Technical Education and Workforce Training, the Executive Director of Workforce and Adult Education provides strategic leadership, administration, and oversight for the College's Adult Education and Workforce Development programs. The Executive Director is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that support workforce readiness, adult literacy, economic development, customized business and industry training and community engagement.
The Executive Director oversees personnel, budgets, grants, compliance, partnerships, and program operations while ensuring alignment with the College's mission, strategic priorities, and the goals of the Alabama Community College System. This position serves as the primary liaison with business and industry, workforce agencies, community organizations, governmental entities, and educational partners to expand educational and workforce opportunities throughout the College's service area.
Salary: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule C, Rank 2: $84,020-$120,346, which is based on years of directly related full-time experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
2. Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the College's Adult Education and Workforce Training programs.
3. Develop and implement long-range plans and initiatives that support workforce development.
4. Direct the day-to-day operations of Adult Education and Workforce Development while promoting continuous program improvement and innovation.
5. Supervise, evaluate, and provide leadership for professional, instructional, and support personnel within Adult Education and Workforce Development.
6. Foster employee growth through mentoring, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
7. Develop, administer, and monitor departmental budgets and ensure sound fiscal stewardship in collaboration with the Business Office.
8. Develop, administer, and monitor federal, state, local, and private grants supporting Adult Education and Workforce Development initiatives.
9. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, Alabama Community College System, grant, accreditation, and College policies and regulations.
10. Evaluate program effectiveness using performance data and implement strategies for continuous improvement and achievement of established performance measures.
11. Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with business and industry, workforce agencies, community organizations, governmental agencies, and non-profit organizations.
12. Serve as the College's liaison with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) partners and other workforce development organizations.
13. Assess workforce and community needs and develop programs for business and industry.
14. Plan, coordinate, market, and evaluate customized workforce training programs for business and industry.
15. Develop and expand non-credit workforce training.
16. Oversee apprenticeships, work-based learning initiatives, incumbent worker training, career exploration activities, STEM camps and other workforce initiatives.
17. Coordinate Skills for Success and other workforce readiness programs that enhance employability and career advancement.
18. Recruit Adult Education students and support enrollment, retention, educational gains, credential attainment, postsecondary transition, and employment outcomes.
19. Promote Adult Education and Workforce Development programs through outreach, marketing, public presentations, community events, and strategic partnerships.
20. Conduct community needs assessments and establishes or expand instructional sites and services through the College's service area.
21. Coordinate student outcome tracking, data collection, performance reporting, and accountability measures required by funding agencies and the College.
22. Prepare comprehensive reports documenting program performance, grant outcomes, fiscal accountability, and institutional effectiveness.
23. Recruit qualified instructors, trainers, and consultants to support Adult Education and Workforce Training programs.
24. Participate in state, regional, and national professional organizations, conference, workshops, and advisory committees related to Adult Education and Workforce Training.
25. Serve on College committees and represent the College with local Chamber of Commerce, workforce councils, economic development organizations, and community partners.
26. Collaborate with academic and student services departments to strengthen career pathways, credential attainment, student success, and workforce alignment.
27. Advise the Associate Dean on strategic planning, policy development, resource allocation, and emerging workforce and Adult Education trends.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College.
2. Remain current in and enhance professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education.
3. Interact with and serve a diverse student population in a courteous and friendly manner.
4. Adhere to College standards of professionalism and confidentiality, including courteous and friendly interaction with other CVCC employees.
5. Recruit potential students, both traditional and nontraditional, to the College.
6. Maintain appropriate work hours as outline in State and College policies and assigned by supervisor or dean.
7. Maintain confidentiality of identified sensitive information and of departmental information.
8. Represent the institution in a positive manner.
9. Participate in advance registration, regular registration, and schedule adjustment as assigned.
10. Serve on committee as assigned.
11. Participate in graduation and other College activities.
12. Participate in the College's planning process.
13. As a Campus Security Authority (CSA), report to the official or office designated by the institution to collect crime report information, such as the campus police or security department, those allegations of Clery Act crimes that the CSA concludes were made in good faith.
