Our Mission

Seven Seventeen Credit Union will support the economic vitality of the region by providing assistance in matching top-quality interns, to meet the needs of the community.

The mission of this program will be to engage students in planned, educationally-related work and learning experiences that integrate knowledge and theory with practical application and skill development in a professional setting enhancing students’ employability skills.

Organizational Objectives

The objectives of Seven Seventeen Credit Union Internship program is to:

  • Contribute to our community.
  • Enhance company/product recognition among the public or potential interns.
  • Increase visibility within the University community.
  • Become an economical recruiting tool and opportunity to train future employees.
  • Allow us to evaluate prospective employees while they are working for us, which can reduce significant costs in finding new talent.
  • Bring current technology and ideas from the classroom to the workplace and increase the organization’s intellectual capital.
  • Be another source of recruitment for diverse employees in our workforce.
  • Provide an opportunity for mid-level staff to learn valuable management skills.

The internship is open to YSU students who have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. They must also be in their junior or senior year of college or enrolled in a MBA program. Students must be enrolled in internship class during the time of the internship and will receive credit hours.

The intern must complete 225 hours per semester. Internship will last one semester (15 weeks for spring and fall, 12 weeks for summer) with students working 15-20 hours per week. The hourly rate of pay for the internship is $15/hr.
